Terms of Use
Effective 2026-08-04. The full terms for dig.rest, operated by Not Rest Inc. Questions, corrections, takedown requests and data requests all go to [email protected].
This is the long form, and it is the version that governs. The short summary at dig.rest/terms and the privacy policy at dig.rest/privacy are part of the same agreement; where the summary and this page differ, this page wins. Using dig.rest means you accept these terms.
[OWNER: this page was drafted from what the product verifiably does and has NOT been reviewed by counsel. Every bracketed item is a decision only you can make; they are collected at the bottom.]
The short version
Informational only — not financial, legal, or professional advice. Any action you take on this information is at your own risk.
dig.rest reads public news, connects stories into cause-and-effect chains, and sometimes makes a forward call with a stated confidence. It is a research tool that shows its work and publishes its failures. It is not an advisor, and it is sometimes wrong. If a decision matters, follow the sources we cite and check them yourself.
What dig.rest actually does
- Digs and turns. We ingest public news and public records, pull out entities and themes, and have a language model propose directed cause→effect links — turns — between events. Those links are machine-generated hypotheses, not established fact. Some are wrong. Some connect two stories that have nothing to do with each other.
- Motifs. Recurring shapes across past chains. A motif describes what has happened before. It is not a rule about what happens next.
- Calls and the record. dig.rest locks forward calls — a topic, a call type, a stated confidence and a resolve-by date — before the outcome, then grades them. Every graded call, misses included, is published at dig.rest/record.
- Summaries and answers. Briefs, answers and neutralised rewrites are generated by a language model from the sources we cite. Models mis-date, mis-attribute and over-connect. Treat every one of them as a starting point and follow the link.
No advice, and no professional relationship
dig.rest is general information published to the world. It is not investment, financial, trading, tax, accounting, legal, medical or any other professional advice, and it is not tailored to you, your circumstances, your portfolio or your tolerance for loss.
- We are not a licensed or registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, law firm or fiduciary, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of those.
- Nothing here is a recommendation, offer or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security, currency, commodity or other instrument, or to enter into any transaction.
- Using dig.rest — including paying to watch a topic — creates no advisory, fiduciary or attorney-client relationship between you and us.
- The decisions are yours. If you act on something you read here, you do it at your own risk and at your own cost. Where it matters, talk to a licensed professional who actually knows your situation.
Predictions are probabilities, and they fail in public
A call on dig.rest is model output. It is a probability, not a forecast you can bank.
- A confident call still loses. A call made at 0.70 is expected to be wrong about three times in ten. That is the arithmetic working, not the system breaking.
- We publish the misses. The record shows every resolved call with its Brier score (0 is perfect, 0.25 is a coin flip, 1 is confidently wrong) and its true size — the number of calls it is drawn from, never a flattering slice.
- Calibration is shown before it is earned. Confidence bands holding fewer than 20 graded calls are displayed dimmed and labelled: they are data we have, not a correction we have earned.
- Rope calls are locked, not graded. Calls written by the daily rope pass are timestamped and public, but nothing grades a free-text claim today. They are a public record, not a score.
- Past accuracy does not carry forward. A good Brier average over past calls is not a promise about the next one, and the record is small.
- A call that does not name its instrument and benchmark cannot be graded — "$90 oil" is true on one benchmark and false on another on the same day. Read any such wording as commentary, never as a graded result.
Market and economic information
- Scope. Where dig.rest publishes market or economic figures, they are interest rates, government yield curves, foreign-exchange reference rates, energy and commodity prices, and official macroeconomic statistics, taken from the bodies that publish them.
- No equities. dig.rest does not publish share prices, stock-index levels or real-time quotes, and it is not an exchange, a market-data vendor, or a redistributor of licensed market feeds.
- Figures move and get revised. Published data is periodic, can be delayed, and is frequently revised by its publisher after we have shown it. Ours may also be wrong in transit. The publisher's own release is the authority — not our copy of it.
- Nothing in this layer is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to transact in any instrument.
No warranty
dig.rest is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or availability.
Concretely, and honestly: automated extraction mis-parses pages; timestamps can be wrong; entity matching confuses people and companies who share a name; the causal pass proposes links that do not hold; and the service can be down, stale or mid-rebuild without notice. We do not promise dig.rest is available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect gets fixed.
Sources, third-party content and attribution
dig.rest is built on public sources, and we cite them. The underlying reporting, filings, papers and data belong to whoever published them — not to us. We link out so you can read the original. We display our own analysis, headlines and short excerpts as evidence; we do not republish articles, and citing a source is not an endorsement by it of us or by us of it.

Where dig.rest shows a rate, exchange rate, commodity price or macroeconomic figure, it carries its publisher's credit. These are the exact lines, and they are the ones the software itself renders beside the numbers:
- Source: U.S. Department of the Treasury (public domain) — daily par yield curve rates.
- Source: European Central Bank euro foreign-exchange reference rates — the ECB permits reuse, including commercial reuse, on condition that it is cited. This line is a licence condition, not a courtesy.
- Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration (public domain) — energy spot prices.
- Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (public domain) — labour and price statistics.
If you publish a source we cite and something is wrong, mis-attributed, or should not be there, email [email protected] and we will fix or remove it.
Your account, and what we hold
The full policy is at dig.rest/privacy. In short, and accurately:
- Sign-in is passwordless. You give an email, we send a one-time code, you enter it. We store no password for you. Codes are stored hashed, expire, and are attempt-capped.
- What we keep: your email, your saved digs, your notes, your watched topics and email preference, your sign-in sessions, and any calls or votes you choose to make.
- Anonymous signals: we count which topics are being dug and which pairs get visited together. Those counts carry no user attached — they steer the engine's attention, nothing else.
- Anything you publish is public. Publishing a note, or locking a call, puts it where others can read it. Published notes appear without your name or email attached, but the words are public and we cannot un-ring that bell for anyone who already read them.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pool one person's data with another's.
- Deletion: email [email protected] and we will show you what we hold or delete your account and its data.
- Keep your inbox secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
Using the service fairly
Use dig.rest for reading, research and your own curiosity. When using the site, its feeds, the public API or the MCP endpoint:
- Do not scrape, overload, or bulk-extract. Rate limits exist because a single GPU serves everyone; do not work around them, and do not automate a load the site is not offered for.
- Do not attack, probe or disrupt the service, or try to reach other people's accounts or data.
- Keep the attribution. If you republish our analysis, credit dig.rest for the analysis and the original publisher for the facts, and keep the link.
- Do not dress it up as advice. Do not present dig.rest output as professional, licensed or personalised advice; do not imply we produced, endorsed, reviewed or verified your use of it; and do not present dig.rest as the origin or verifier of a claim it merely cites and links.
- Do not misrepresent what a call is — a locked call is model output with a stated confidence, and quoting one as a guarantee, a signal, or a track record we do not have is not fair use of it.
- The public API and MCP endpoint are offered as-is and unsupported. They can change, break, rate-limit harder, or stop, without notice.
Accounts or access can be suspended if this section is being broken and the service is suffering for it.
Paid features
Watching a topic is optional and paid: $5/month per topic, first month free, cancellable anytime, ending at the close of the current period. Payments and donations are handled by an external payment provider — we never see or store your card details. If a charge went wrong, email [email protected] and we will sort out a refund fairly.
Limitation of liability, and no reliance
You should not rely on dig.rest, and by using it you accept that you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for decisions you make with it — including trading, investment, business, legal, employment, safety or personal decisions — or for what those decisions cost you.
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost profits, lost trading or investment gains, trading or investment losses, lost data, lost opportunity or reputational harm, however caused.
- We are not liable for anything arising from a third party's content, from a source being wrong, from data being delayed or revised, or from the service being unavailable.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to dig.rest is limited to what you actually paid us in the three months before the claim — which, for free use of the site, is nothing.
Some places do not allow limits like these. Where that is true, these limits apply only as far as that law allows, and nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We can update these terms. When we do, the effective date at the top changes; where a change is material we will say so on the site. Continuing to use dig.rest after a change means you accept the new version. Old versions live in this project's git history.
Governing law and disputes
[OWNER: choose the governing law and the venue for disputes — e.g. "the laws of the State of ___, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules; courts located in ___". Nothing is claimed here until you decide. Do not adopt an arbitration or class-waiver clause without counsel: several jurisdictions regulate both, and an unenforceable clause is worse than none.]
Contact
Everything reaches a person at [email protected] — questions, corrections, takedown and source complaints, account deletion, refunds, and legal notices.
[OWNER: if a postal address or a named legal-notice recipient is required where the entity is registered, add it here.]
Open items — owner review
This page ships with its gaps visible on purpose. Each one is a decision, not an oversight:
- [OWNER: confirm the legal entity.] "Not Rest Inc." is carried over from the pages shipped 2026-07-21; the exact registered name, the entity type and the state or country of incorporation have not been independently verified here.
- [OWNER: governing law and venue] — see above; unset.
- [OWNER: postal address / legal-notice recipient] — unset; email only today.
- [OWNER: counsel review.] This is an AI-drafted page written from the code. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and consumer-protection, financial-promotion and market-data rules vary by country.
- [OWNER: the market layer's go-live.] The credit lines above are written as a standing rule, so this page is true whether or not the market layer is switched on. FRED was retired by owner ruling on 2026-08-04 (its terms bar both AI use and storing its content in a database) and is deliberately absent from the source list. Confirm the clean portfolio — Treasury, ECB, EIA, BLS — is the only market pull running before any market surface goes live, and that the ECB credit line renders wherever its numbers do.
